  1. 85 Pounds Later - How Blake Got His Life Back

For IT web hosting manager Blake, nothing has been more important for the last year than taking ownership of his body, health and weight.

It’s so important, in fact, that Blake decided to put his career on hold and focus all his energy into it. And it's paid off. He's down 85 pounds, and continues to lose more every day!

Blake spent his adult life in the IT field in Wichita, Kansas, building and selling successful companies. But while his career was going well, it was taking a large toll on his health.

“The more I got into my job, which is a desk job, the more the weight would stay on or increase,” said Blake. “Stress puts it on.”

Over the years, Blake ballooned up, and he didn’t like it one bit.

He started working with a trainer to take back control of his life.

“We started meeting down by the river and doing workouts outside, along with some jogging,” said Blake. “I’ve been working out with him ever since.”

And although the jogging helped, Blake struggled with making good food choices. After receiving an email from Diet-to-Go, Blake decided having healthy, nutritious meals pre-made for him would be a great way to mitigate his poor food choices.

“I like that the food is healthy, natural, no preservatives; and as a bachelor, it makes meal planning very, very simple and easy to follow,” said Blake.

Besides the 85 pounds he already got rid of, Blake continues to lose more every single day. And even more importantly, he has a newfound lease on life that makes him happier to take on each and every day.

He also enjoys more time to himself, even while losing weight, with the convenience of pre-cooked, healthy meals from Diet-to-Go.

“When you’re a bachelor, meals always seem to be a chore,” said Blake. “I don’t want to spend time shopping and planning the week. But by [being] provided a set meal plan (but still with variety), that is balanced, nutritious and healthy, I don’t have to worry about what I’m eating.”

He also has other secret weapons to ensure that he stays on-track. He keeps his Withings scale and Fitbit close by, and also tracks his calories with Lose It!

“I really, really love that all the Diet-to-Go meals are already in the Lose It! database!” said Blake.

Blake said that by keeping up with a daily exercise routine, eating Diet-to-Go (with the occasional treat) and setting rules for himself, he will continue to lose weight.

“I believe fast and processed food is evil and is killing us all slowly,” said Blake. “One of my rules is that I won’t eat at a restaurant that has a drive-thru – it’s processed, high in salt and fat and low in nutrition – and not good for me.”

For motivation, Blake says he can always count on his trainer, Yusef, to help him stay on-point. He also follows Shawn Tyler Weeks, author of the popular weight loss blog 344 Pounds.

“He showed that you can take off lots of weight in a healthy way with diet and exercise, and improve your health,” said Blake.

And Blake plans on continuing with that mindset to achieve his goal weight by the end of the year.

“Better health is a lifestyle, and it’s easy to want a silver bullet to fix ourselves or lose weight,” said Blake. “But it really does take a lifestyle change. Taking a year off work is extreme, but I’m making an investment in my future, and I plan to succeed!”
