  1. Dieting Is Not Dead: 1/3 of Americans Plan to Lose Weight in 2019, survey finds

Since when has “diet” become a four-letter word?

Yes, it’s true that losing weight is about making small, lasting changes that last a lifetime. Making one little tweak at a time to your lifestyle is the best way to see consistent results.

But a big part of that change starts with one major thing: a healthy diet.

That’s why one-in-three Americans said that losing weight will be priority one in 2019, according to a new survey that polled more than 600 adults about their weight expectations during the holidays.

black-bean-burritoThat same survey found that half (yes, half) of Americans expect to gain weight from October to December (hello holidays!). And 78 percent of Americans who expect to gain weight during the holiday season anticipate adding five or more pounds -- more than 36 percent predict they'll gain 10 or more pounds.

    Yikes.

Those numbers seem pretty troubling -- but there’s good news, too.

Weight gained during the holidays can easily be lost.

That’s why so many also say the opportunities brought by 2019 include weight loss and a healthier lifestyle.
