Guess who won third place in our September Weight Loss Challenge….

Lou Martini Jr. from The Sopranos!

We caught up with Lou, who lost 15 pound in just four weeks. Congrats on the loss, Lou. You look great!

Diet-to-Go: How long have you been an actor?

Lou Martini Jr.: I’ve been in the business since I was 4 years old. My first speaking part was in a movie called What’s So Bad About Feeling Good with Mary Tyler Moore in 1968.

Diet-to-Go: What has been your favorite role, so far?

Lou Martini Jr.: I really enjoyed being Anthony Infante in the recurring role on HBO’s Sopranos. I was the only actor to have principle work on the Sopranos and Godfather 1.

Diet-to-Go: Can we expect to see you in anything coming up?

Lou Martini Jr.: Yes. I have a lot going on right now. I was recently in an episode of Mysteries of Laura on NBC, I just guest starred on NBC’s Law and Order SVU as a “pill pushing surgeon”. I was also Coach Grimaldi on Orange is the New Black on Netflix. I will be opposite James Franco on HBO’s series, The Deuce. I am featured in the recurring role of Mario Tempera on HBO’s Vinyl airing in January. I just wrapped a feature opposite Eric Roberts called Oiled Up. I’ll be starring in an Off Broadway show called Centennial Casting this December. You can always see what’s coming up on my IMDB page.

Diet-to-Go: Wow you do have a lot going on! How do you think losing the 15 pounds in the Diet-to-Go Weight Loss Challenge will affect your career?

Lou Martini Jr.: As a working character actor, I’m really not sure. I don’t think I will now become a leading man (Lou chuckles), but I do feel a lot better about myself. The renewed confidence can only help my career. A healthy actor is a HAPPY actor!

Diet-to-Go: How has losing weight improved your life, otherwise?

Lou Martini Jr.: I’m sleeping better, not as sluggish and I seem to be more energetic. Just being literally lighter on my feet has improved my whole demeanor!

Diet-to-Go: What has been your biggest struggle with eating healthy?

Lou Martini Jr.: SODA…the root of all evil! I have switched to flavored water now…big difference. Late night meals are out and now a late night snack of a banana, piece of fruit, or a handful of nuts is in.

Diet-to-Go: What did you like most about the Diet-to-Go meal plan?

Lou Martini Jr.: The portions were perfectly satisfying which was a great surprise. The ease of preparing the meals, and their quality was also great. I’ve tried other plans where the food wasn’t as nearly as good as Diet-to-Go! Most importantly was the plan itself…..I had a plan to follow!

Diet-to-Go: Anything else you’d like to share?

Lou Martini Jr.: I really liked that the meals were shipped directly to my door. Living in New York, it’s all about convenience and Diet-to-Go is just that, convenience in a box. It was a wonderful experience all the way around. I know this a great start to me maintaining a healthier weight and lifestyle. I can’t thank Diet-to-Go enough!
